Dear Visitor,

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the California Massage Therapy Council’s (CAMTC) website. CAMTC is a private non-profit public benefit corporation authorized by California State Legislation and created in 2009, providing voluntary certification that enables massage professionals to practice statewide. Our Mission is: To protect the public by certifying massage professionals in California that meet the requirements in the Law and approving massage programs that meet the minimum standards for training and curriculum.

CAMTC Certified Professionals are recognized throughout California for having met the state's educational requirements and passed an extensive background check. Once approved, they are certified to work anywhere in California for two years without needing a city or county massage technician’s permit.

CAMTC credentials create immediate rapport with allied health professionals and recognition by the public they serve.

For more information about applying for CAMTC Certification, go to the MASSAGE PROFESSIONALS icon on our Home Page for a simple summary of the requirements and fee schedules.

Currently there are over 50,000 active CAMTC Certificate Holders. This has made hiring easier for employers and also improved communication with local governments and the public they serve. We are committed to making the experience of all stakeholders a streamlined and positive collaboration, which results in greater public safety. Together we have a unique opportunity to benefit and protect the public in California!

To your health,

Mark W. Dixon, CMT
