The first line of defense against human trafficking in massage businesses are the individuals issuing massage establishment permits, supported by a well drafted massage ordinance that provides effective enforcement tools.

CAMTC Director of Governmental Affairs and Human Trafficking, Beverly May, will provide her expertise on massage ordinances, including valuable tips for improving your local ordinance.

CAMTC Director of Law & Code Enforcement Relations, Rick McElroy and Elaine Ketell, Sr. Mgmt. Analyst, Sunnyvale Dept. of Public Safety have come together to provide training to prepare massage establishment permit professionals with tools that will help to stop human trafficking beginning with the permit application; drastically reducing the number of illicit massage establishments by stopping them before they get started.
